Revolution XX Eyeshadow Palette Review

I love a good eyeshadow. In fact, my makeup look for the summer only uses 3 items and they are all to do with the eyes.

On a recent shopping trip to a local dugstore (boots) I was on the prowl for a new eyeshadow. Preferably a single colour similar to the “Collection – Bare Nudes” Palette that I have been using. This is when I came across the Revolution XX makeup. I was instantly drawn in.

While we aren’t allowed to test out the products and try them on our skin, they had a palette in each selection opened (under glass or perspex) for us to be able to see the colours in the palette. EVERY SINGLE COLOUR was just what I was looking for. A range of neutral pinks, brown and purples, the colours which I wear all the time. And best of all a colour I have been contemplating in trying out, PEACH.

It seemed to be too good to be true at with 15 colours in this palette I thought it was a bargain at £12.00. I couldn’t resist, I had to get it.

I love the fact that there is a mixture of shimmer and matte colours in each shade, and that they have such a good choice of colours for a really glam look, or an understated natural look. Obviously I have been playing around with these colours since I first got them, and so far I am not disappointed.

Swatch Testing

The first thing I did on opening this product when I got home was to swatch test EVERY SINGLE colour in the palette. I wanted to see how well they blend in and if they move about when attempting to blend before putting the product on my eyes. This is also a really good way to ensure you don’t have an allergy to the product before putting it on a sensitive skin area.

The blend was great, it blended really well but didn’t loose its structure or colour on the blend. The colours work really well with each other across the palette. Meaning that it doesn’t matter which colours you use, you will always achieve a lovely look.

The next thing I was look at was the pigmentation of the palette.

The Pigmentation is AMAZING

I hate an eyeshadow with very little pigmentation. As I don’t really have time to be building up product to get a colour I am happy with. I literally get 10 mins in the morning to do my makeup and that is it.

The Pigmentation from this palette has got to be one of the best I have ever found in eyeshadows so far. The colour is deep and you don’t need a lot to get a good coverage which is a huge bonus.

How Long It Lasts (Longevity)

Usually I wear a product from first thing in the morning to last thing at night. So this is the first thing I check when looking at any new product.

I ask myself, how long will it last before the colour disappears? And does it need help to last longer? The answer to these questions is a make or break deal. I look for makeup products which lasts and looks as good as it did when I first put it on at the end of the day.

So how does this product compare?

I have to admit I was a little sceptical when I first tried it out. When I find eyeshadows with great pigmentation they usually only keep their colour for a few hours before the colour starts to disappear.

However the Revolution XX eyeshadow palette didn’t have this problem at all! What a Surprise! I was expecting to look at myself in the mirror after a couple of hours and find that the colour had started to fade or disappear. Instead it looked like I had just put it on.

It glided on so nicely and stayed in place. In fact, compared to any other product I have used on my eyes this product lasted the longest and looks the best. BY FAR!

My Overall Opinion

Overall these colour palettes from Revolution XX are to die for!

The colour pigmentation is amazing, the product blends so nicely with other colours and other brands as well. And what’s more it lasts all day! And I really do mean all day. Not like other palettes and products I have tried where the colour fades throughout wear, and it looks as if it has just been applied no matter how long it has been on for.

On first impressions, I love the case of the palette and I love the colour range in ALL the palettes. I will definitely be investing in the other palettes very soon!
